2010 by the Robert Bosch Foundation.
"Stuttgart/Wiesbaden, April 27, 2010 – The prizes for international film
co-productions by budding new filmmakers from Germany and Eastern Europe
go to three promising film projects in the categories short film,
animated film, and documentary. The Robert Bosch Stiftung is presenting
the prizes, which have a total value of up to 210,000 euros, tonight at
goEast - the festival in Wiesbaden for films from Central and Eastern
Europe. The jury of experts initially selected fifteen nominees from a
pool of 78 applicants, and subsequently selected the three award
winners.
The winner in the short film category is the Moldavian
and German co-production “Panihida” from director Ana-Felicia Scutelnicu
and producer Jonas Weydemann. The team won over the jury with its
outstanding presentation of the story of a cumbersome and visibly absurd
funeral procession through a Moldavian village. In “Panihida,” the
director, who worked with amateur actors on the film, deals with the
promising interplay between mourning and happiness...."
